Audition to be Chad Bradford

June 22, 2010

I couldn't pitch accurately that way even with a gummy elbow.

This is from a recent casting breakdown that talent agents get for client submissions. It seems accurate, except I’d replace the sentence in David Justice’s description from “Was a superstar when he played for the Yankees” to “Let Halle Berry slip through his HGH-stained fingers.” Please tell me Dennis Franz will be playing Jeremy Brown.

MONEYBALL (3 roles – NY) Feature Film SAG Draft Date: 4/9/10

SUBMIT ELECTRONICALLY ONLY

NOTE: Auditioning actors should bring hard copy photo/resume with them. Billy Beane: Cast (Brad Pitt) Paul DePodesta: Cast (Jonah Hill)

[SCOTT HATTEBERG] 25 to 35; Caucasian. MUST BE ABLE TO BAT – WE CANNOT CHEAT THIS (They will be tested on their baseball skills). Scott used to be a catcher until he was sidelined by an injury. He’s offered a new lease on his baseball career when Billy offers him the first base position on the As.

[CHAD BRADFORD] 30s; Caucasian. MUST BE ABLE TO PITCH – WE CANNOT CHEAT THIS (They will be tested on their baseball skills). Deeply religious Southern boy. No one sees him coming – his submarine pitch is a force to be reckoned with.

[DAVID JUSTICE] (Photo attached) 35 to 45; Probably the most recognizable of all the A’s. Half Caucasian, half African American. Was a superstar when he played for the Yankees, isn’t anymore. Passed his prime. Plays left field. Must have some baseball experience.

NOTE: We need all these guys to be under 6 feet tall, with the possible exception of the DAVID JUSTICE character… we’d consider taller if he closely resembled the real guy.
